We are seeking a highly skilled Research Coordinator to join our team in the Clinical Trials Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical research and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Job Description:

  • Coordinate study requirements with relevant units and departments, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
  • Organize and administer informed consent processes, working closely with Principal Investigators.
  • Provide patient care in accordance with protocol requirements, including screening, recruitment, and study visit procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of study documentation, adhering to protocol and GCP guidelines.
  • Monitor patients for changes in health status, response to investigational products, and adverse events.
  • Conduct laboratory support services, including phlebotomy and specimen collection/handling.
  • Review clinical trials protocols and provide feedback to supervisors for approval.
  • Facilitate internal and external audits of the unit.
  • Prepare reports on serious adverse events and submit them to regulatory bodies and sponsors.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Medicine or a relevant Health Field, such as Nursing.
  • Current registration and good standing with professional associations.
  • At least one year of research experience or three years of clinical work experience.
  • Excellent clinical skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Integrity and strong research ethics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

About the Role:

This is a grant-funded contractual position that requires the selected candidate to work closely with the Clinical Trials Unit team.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of high-quality clinical trials and play a crucial role in promoting AKU's vision.
