Hadoop Migration Developer - Senior Big Data Expert

In this challenging role, you will be working on Hadoop Migration projects. Your responsibilities include ensuring code quality and functional validations, collaborating with Technical Leads to implement solutions as per design specifications, and providing inputs on alternate solutions for performance or technical feasibility issues.

You will also be responsible for designing and developing migration strategies for Hadoop to Teradata Vantage migration projects. This involves understanding the customer's existing Hadoop ecosystem, including all technology stack components involving batch and real-time data pipelines. You will need to comprehend the current implementation of Hadoop technology components such as HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Nifi, Spark Streaming, etc. Additionally, you will understand the proposed target architecture leveraging modern data stack components like Teradata Vantage ecosystem, including object stores like S3, Azure blob, and other cloud-native services. Leverage existing migration tools and methodology to efficiently convert Hadoop technical stack to the Teradata Vantage ecosystem.

Working closely with customer SMEs and Technical Leads, you will help develop a migration strategy and solution. Reporting any issues or risks to Technical Leads and Project Managers is crucial in ensuring smooth project delivery.

You will work under the direction of a Project Manager and Technical Leads, who will guide you to ensure high-quality deliverables as per requirements.

Key requirements for this position include at least 5 years of IT work experience, preferably with leadership roles. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Data Analytics related roles is also essential. In addition, a strong background in Hadoop ecosystem components, such as HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Nifi, Spark Streaming, etc., is necessary.

A deeper knowledge of Teradata product and ETL tools like Informatica would be beneficial.

This role requires Hadoop subject matter expertise and the ability to encapsulate knowledge for sharing across multiple projects.
