Avanceon is looking for a skilled Automation System Specialist to work on a multi-year contract basis.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and executing test plans to ensure automation system reliability and functionality.
  2. Troubleshooting and resolving automation issues, optimizing system performance, and minimizing downtime.
  3. Performing regular system maintenance, including upgrades, backups, and configuration activities.
  4. Providing training and support to operations teams on proper use and maintenance of automation systems.
  5. Documenting all processes, configurations, and changes related to automation systems.
  6. Preparing progress and root cause analysis reports.
Requirements & Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, automation, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in the automation field as a PLC/RTU programmer and commissioning engineer, preferably on water and wastewater projects, oil & gas, and infrastructure.
  • Experience working with various PLC platforms and RTUs, such as Schneider M580, Rockwell Control & Compact Logix, Siemens S7-300, S7-400, S7-1500, PCS-7, WinCC SCADA, and TBOX RTU.
  • Knowledge of open communication protocols used in automation, including Modbus Serial, Modbus RTU, BACnet MSTP, OPC, MQTT, and DNP3.
  • Familiarity with control panel wiring and instrumentation.
  • Ability to read documents and drawings related to control systems, such as P&IDs, layouts, and control panel drawings, and troubleshoot wiring issues.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • UPDA holder.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Preferring international driving license.
