Product Development Lead

This role involves spearheading product development initiatives to create innovative, functional, and cost-effective furniture designs that align with market trends, customer needs, and manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop New Product Designs: Create and execute new product designs and prototypes based on market research and client requirements
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of product concepts with business goals
  • Conduct Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to assess the practicality of new designs and materials for manufacturing
  • Analyze Market Trends: Analyze market trends and competitor products to identify opportunities for innovation
  • Prepare Technical Drawings: Prepare detailed technical drawings, product specifications, and BOMs for new designs
  • Oversee Prototype Development: Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation to ensure quality and functionality
  • Source Materials: Work with suppliers to identify and source suitable materials for product development
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines
  • Support Production: Provide support for production ramp-up, troubleshooting any issues during the transition from prototype to manufacturing
  • Maintain Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of all product development processes, iterations, and outcomes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year in product development, preferably in the furniture manufacturing industry
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or 3ds Max. Familiarity with prototyping techniques and tools
  • Strong understanding of furniture materials, production processes, and quality standards
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to think creatively and drive innovation in product design and development
