Job Title:

Network Security Specialist

Job Description:

Our team is responsible for protecting information system assets by identifying and resolving security issues.

As a cybersecurity specialist, you will be responsible for defining access privileges, control structures, and resources to protect systems.

You will identify abnormalities and report violations to recognize problems.

Assessing current security situations, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements to implement security improvements.

Conducting periodic audits to identify violations and inefficiencies.

Upgrading systems by implementing and maintaining security controls.

Preparing performance reports and communicating system status to keep users and customers informed.

Maintaining quality service following organizational standards.

Attending educational workshops and reviewing publications to maintain technical knowledge.

Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Performing troubleshooting on active accounts.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Active member of a 24x7 team of FortiNet security specialists.
  • System administration skills.
  • Network security expertise.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of information security policies.
  • On-call network troubleshooting skills.
  • Firewall administration experience.
  • Understanding of network protocols.

The candidate should also possess the following education, experience, and licensing requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with FortiNet FortiGuard security appliances, including designing, configuring, monitoring, and resolving issues.
  • Advanced FortiNet security certifications.
  • Industry certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, Security+ CE, CISSP, or CASP.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network ports, protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and security fundamentals.
  • Experience analyzing logs, network data (e.g., NetFlow, FPC), and attack artifacts for incident investigations.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions.
