Hospice Company is seeking a full-time Billing Specialist to join our rapidly growing team. This position involves electronically billing third-party patient claims, including processing rejections and posting insurance payments. The specialist will also be responsible for monthly patient statement billing and itemized billings as requested.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in medical billing.
  • An understanding of various billing software applications.
  • Prior healthcare-related billing experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Timely and accurate data entry of payments received from third-party payers.
  • Processing all rejected and denied claims submitted to third-party payers.
  • Working with EOB or EOP CPT AND ICD 10.
  • Reconciling daily cash receipts from insurance carriers with the database and submitting to the supervisor at the end of the workday.
  • Entering pertinent patient information/details in the Health Center database completely and accurately.
  • Using problem-solving skills to follow up on commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid denials.
  • Answering phones when necessary.
  • Attending scheduled work sites and shifts on time and being fully prepared to engage in all job responsibilities.
