We are seeking a highly skilled UN News Data Specialist to join our team and support our humanitarian response efforts in Pakistan.
About the Role:
- In this role, you will collect, analyze, and disseminate data to inform humanitarian decision-making.
- You will work closely with UNOCHA's coordination staff and other UN agencies to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Your primary objective will be to contribute to the effective implementation of OCHA's information management strategy in Pakistan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify trends and patterns.
- Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and other data sources to support operational analysis and decision-making.
- Create reports, infographics, and dashboards to present findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with UNOCHA's coordination staff and other UN agencies to ensure data quality and consistency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, data science, or a related area, with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience in handling web-based management systems.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, is desirable.
- Fluency in English language required. Fluency in Urdu language required.
