Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled News Anchor Specialist to join our team at Rassai TV. This role involves producing daily and long-form news stories, pitching and reporting ideas, and delivering newscasts on our nightly TV show.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and pitching story ideas, producing field-based packages and in-studio anchoring, and working with videographers to gather sound and video.
• Writing scripts that work for both TV and radio, providing editors with script and voiceover on a strict daily deadline, and delivering daily newscasts on Evening Edition as anchor.
• Editing and writing scripts, pre-reading stories and headlines, and producing news briefs, as well as brainstorming story ideas with reporters, supervisors, producers, and digital teams.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of contacts and story progress, and following major developments on general stories, especially those previously covered.
• Upholding Rassai news standards for quality and ethics, and contributing to the development of the Rassai TV Strategic Plan.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year's professional experience as a journalist with TV broadcast news or news magazine experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Familiarity with the Rassai TV Strategic Plan and commitment to upholding Rassai news standards for quality and ethics.
• The ability to read and follow major developments on general stories, especially those previously covered.
• Diverse contact lists and files for ongoing continuity of coverage and accumulation of knowledge.
