Export Trade Manager Job Description

As an Export Trade Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire export process from preparation and submission of customs and bank documents to shipment clearance. You will also address marketing queries related to export documentation, commissions, and payment realization.

  • Coordinate import processes from letter of credit opening to shipment clearance from customs.
  • Liaise with finance and accounts for import operations, documentation, payments, and proceeds.
  • Negotiate with transporters for import/export logistics, finalize contracts, and evaluate bids from freight forwarders as needed.
  • Scrutinize and approve transport and customs clearance bills for import/export.
  • Negotiate sea and air freight rates for FCL/LCL and air shipments.
  • Liaise with accounts department for timely payment of freight forwarders.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in trade finance, preferably within the textile or manufacturing sector.
  • Professional certifications like CFA, ACCA, or equivalent are a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of trade finance instruments (letters of credit, etc.) and international trade regulations.
  • Proven experience in liaising with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies for import/export documentation and payments.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to lead teams, work cross-functionally, and drive process improvements under high-pressure conditions.
