Leadership and Management Role Overview

This leadership position requires a strong academic leader who can oversee the entire academic leadership and management of multiple schools.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the Area Administrator to manage overall administrative duties, including academic data management, analysis, verification, and preservation.
  2. Foster communication with community members to facilitate school activities as needed.
  3. Drive improvement in School Self-Review (SSR) and enhance fee collection processes.
  4. Develop strategic plans for area improvement through Annual Improvement Plans (AIP).
  5. Plan and implement actions to improve underperforming schools in the area.
Building Effective Relationships

Effective relationship building is crucial for this role. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining open communication with Principals to ensure they build strong relationships with Parents and participate in Parent-Student meetings.
  • Liaising with donors on education-related activities where required.
  • Collaborating with other Regional Academic Directors to foster a collaborative working environment and share best practices.
Principal Quality Enhancement Initiative

The goal of this role is to strengthen the Principal cohort and improve their quality. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the Recruitment and Human Resources Manager to recruit high-quality local Principals.
  • Ensuring full participation in Principal Quality Improvement visits and monitoring regular academic feedback provided to Principals.
  • Supporting Principals through Performance Improvement Plans when necessary.
Teacher Quality Enhancement Program

To achieve the goal of improving Teacher Quality, this role involves:

  • Strengthening the Teacher cohort through content and pedagogy training.
  • Working with Principals to recruit high-quality local Teachers, especially in challenging locations.
  • Approving Teacher transfers and promotion recommendations.
  • Conducting classroom observations and ensuring consistency in feedback.
School Performance Improvement

The focus of this role is on developing and implementing plans to improve school performance. This includes:

  • Creating clear action plans for underperforming schools in the area.
  • Developing strategies for area improvement linked to whole-school and area improvement.
