Remote Medical Assistant Position

We seek a highly skilled Virtual Medical Assistant to provide exceptional administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers remotely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently manage patient appointment schedules, cancellations, and rescheduling in a timely manner.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility prior to appointments for seamless care coordination.
  • Conduct thorough patient intake calls to collect medical history and document information accurately within the EHR system.
  • Facilitate effective communication with patients via phone calls, texts, and emails.
  • Support prescription refills and prior authorizations under physician supervision, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate referrals, lab tests, imaging, and follow-up care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts, progress notes, and documentation before provider visits.
  • Assist with telehealth sessions by guiding patients through setup and basic technical troubleshooting.
  • Promote adherence to HIPAA guidelines and internal confidentiality policies to safeguard sensitive patient information.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare or medical administration is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office, clinical setting, or virtual healthcare environment is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks, Athena, Kareo, or similar is essential.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) are crucial for success in this role.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality requirements is vital.
  • Tech-savviness with knowledge of tools like Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, and Microsoft Office is necessary for efficient collaboration.

This position demands a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Additional Information:
  • A Medical Assistant Certification (CMA/RMA) is advantageous.
  • Experience working with U.S. healthcare systems and terminology is beneficial.
  • Bilingual skills in English and another language are a plus.
  • Experience working with urgent care or primary care practices is preferred.
