As a skilled software tester, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of our software products. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for RESTful APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement API testing strategies, including functional, performance, security, and load testing.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to understand API requirements and specifications.
  • Estimate testing effort and timelines.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual and automated testing of APIs using tools like Postman and its advanced features or similar.
  • Validate API responses, data formats (JSON, XML), status codes, and error handling.
  • Conduct performance testing to identify bottlenecks and ensure scalability.
  • Execute security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure data protection.
  • Perform regression testing to identify and prevent regressions.
  • Create and maintain test data.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
  • Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on API quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with developers to resolve defects and ensure timely fixes.
  • Provide clear and concise communication regarding testing results.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest API testing tools and techniques.
  • Contribute to the improvement of API testing processes and methodologies.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on API design and implementation.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines related to API testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in API testing, including functional, performance, and security testing.
  • Strong understanding of API protocols (REST, SOAP).
  • Proficiency in using API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools within Postman.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Bitbucket).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
