Job Summary

The role of a Junior Research Technician is to support the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health with performing routine technical laboratory procedures, clinical tests, and collecting and processing samples.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct daily laboratory procedures and clinical tests according to established protocols
  2. Tabulate reports for various tests conducted
  3. Collect and process samples as per guidelines stated in the research laboratory procedure manual
  4. Follow seniors in implementing safety standards according to the research laboratory safety manual
  5. Prepare stock solutions, master mixes, and other chemicals/reagents as required for individual projects
  6. Attend training sessions during the training period
  7. Participate in hands-on training work and classroom lectures
  8. Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor or Master of Science in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or Chemistry from a reputable university
  2. Minimum experience of a few months or fresh graduate
  3. Strong subject knowledge
  4. Ability to follow written and oral instructions immediately
  5. Good teamwork skills with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
