Job Title: Senior Research Assistant

This role is an integral part of the Outreach and Research Programme, supporting the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health.

About the Role

The Senior Research Assistant will be responsible for preparing weekly reports, maintaining project data, and providing training to staff. This position requires a strong background in social science or a related field, with two-three years of experience in maternal and child health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting: Prepare weekly reports for project supervisors, detailing project progress and highlighting areas of concern.
  • Data Management: Record and maintain project incentives with social mobilizers, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Translation and Documentation: Translate and type project documents in Urdu, maintaining linguistic consistency and cultural sensitivity.
  • Project Coordination: Manage project data, ensuring its integrity and accuracy, and coordinate with project supervisors on field activities.
  • Awareness Sessions: Plan and conduct awareness sessions in the community, promoting maternal and child health best practices.
  • Counselling: Provide counselling to study participants, offering guidance and support in a sensitive and empathetic manner.
  • Training: Provide training to staff according to study protocols, enhancing their knowledge and skills in maternal and child health.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree in social science or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Two-three years of experience in maternal and child health is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Independence and Teamwork: The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial for success in this role.
  • Writing and Computer Skills: Good writing and computer skills are required for report preparation, data management, and translation.
  • Research Designs: Basic knowledge of research designs is necessary for understanding project methodology and outcomes.
  • Time Management: Effective time management and prioritization skills are essential for meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
