The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities
  • Dust all horizontal surfaces that collect dust on a daily basis to ensure cleanliness of assigned areas.
  • Empty wastebaskets, other trash, and clean ashtrays.
  • Clean bathrooms including metal and porcelain fixtures.
  • Wipe all furniture using a damp cloth.
  • Dry and wet mop floors, both indoor & outdoor.
  • Clean patients' rooms and beds after discharge whenever assigned.
  • Vacuum carpets and clean spots on the same day when assigned.
  • Clean walls and windows when assigned.
  • Inform the supervisor of any wear and tear found in assigned areas to ensure follow-up from MEP, Civil, and Electrical departments.
  • Attend to emergency cleaning complaints when required.
  • Any other related task as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • No formal education (middle school preferred).
  • No formal experience.
  • Females are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of hygiene.
  • Physical fitness.
  • Respectful attitude towards supervisors and colleagues.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions in Urdu pertaining to work responsibilities.
