We are seeking a talented individual proficient in GIS and R programming to lead land use mapping and analysis initiatives.

This role involves utilizing expertise in advanced land use mapping and spatial analysis to develop innovative solutions and insights into land use patterns and their environmental implications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leverage GIS and R Programming to conduct land use mapping and analysis, applying landscapemetrics or similar packages to extract meaningful landscape metrics.
  2. Develop and implement models to assess carbon dynamics in the landscape, integrating with interdisciplinary teams on broader research projects.
  3. Presentation of findings through clear and compelling visualizations and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and R programming.
  • Experience with landscapemetrics or comparable packages for spatial analysis.
  • Strong background in land use mapping and analysis techniques.
  • Ability to develop and implement carbon modeling methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
