The position involves developing innovative solutions and insights into land use patterns and their environmental implications through advanced land use mapping and spatial analysis.
Main Objectives:- Advanced Land Use Mapping: Utilize GIS and R programming to conduct land use mapping and analysis, extracting meaningful landscape metrics.
- Carbon Modeling: Develop and implement models to assess carbon dynamics in the landscape, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
- Reporting and Presentation: Present findings through clear and compelling visualizations and reports.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and R programming.
- Experience with landscapemetrics or comparable packages for spatial analysis.
- Strong background in land use mapping and analysis techniques.
- Ability to develop and implement carbon modeling methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
