Job Description

The School Meal Program under the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator Balochistan and technical Supervision of Country Program Coordinator is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of food services in Quetta. This includes ensuring program objectives are met in collaboration with key stakeholders, managing resources, and leading the program team.

The Operations Director will support and supervise overall project operations, including managing daily kitchen activities to prepare and serve meals to 20,000 students across 65 schools, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procurement policies. Key responsibilities include overseeing food procurement, storage, and delivery, supervising kitchen staff, and addressing logistical challenges to ensure timely and effective meal distribution. The Operations Director will also lead the implementation of WASH activities, maintaining hygiene facilities in schools, promoting clean environments, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Operations and Implementation (40%): Develop and implement strategies to achieve program objectives within the specified timeframe. Oversee daily operations of the school meal program, ensuring meals meet nutrition standards, dietary restrictions, and student preferences.
  • Budget and Financial Management (20%): Develop, manage, and monitor the program budget to ensure cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Supply Chain Management (15%): Oversee the entire food supply chain, from sourcing ingredients to inventory management and delivery coordination.
  • Reporting (15%): Report regularly on activities, progress, achievements, and challenges through daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Human Resources (10%): Manage and supervise program staff, including cooks, storekeepers, security personnel, meal packers, and distributors.
