Job Title: Financial Accountant

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and detail-oriented financial accountant to support our Canadian client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Key responsibilities include managing accounting activities, preparing detailed financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with Canadian financial laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
  • Review the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex accounting variances, providing recommendations for reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Maintain, record, and reconcile billings and accounts receivables for large clients and accounts.
  • Create month-end accounting entries and reconcile discrepancies with the general ledger.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure transactions align with accounting standards.
  • Examine financial statements to ensure compliance with Canadian accounting regulations.
  • Answer escalated queries regarding various accounting issues and reports.

Qualifications:
  • ACCA, CA, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Prior experience of working with Canadian Accounting Consultants/Accounting firms.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Hands-on experience in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, FreshBooks, or Wave to manage.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting fundamentals and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex financial information clearly.
