Product Visionary

The Product Visionary is accountable for driving the product strategy and roadmap, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.

This role involves defining the product vision, breaking down complex goals into manageable tasks, and prioritizing features based on business impact. The Product Visionary will work closely with engineering teams to estimate story points and define done criteria.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Defining the product vision and roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders
  2. Breaking down product vision into epics, features, and user stories with clear definition of done
  3. Prioritizing epics, features, and user stories aligned with business goals and their impact
  4. Collaborating with customer success, marketing, and sales teams to provide support to existing customers and new prospects
  5. Working with engineering teams to estimate story points and define done criteria
  6. Employing methods to track progress and bring visibility to the team's progress
  7. Organizing show-and-tell sessions, performance reviews, and user acceptance testing of features developed by the engineering team
  8. Writing articles about new features or improvements made in the product for both business and technical audiences
  9. Demonstrating and evangelizing new product features/enhancements to other teams such as marketing, sales, and customer success
  10. Leading a team of product analysts by setting standards, processes, and procedures
  11. Hiring and mentoring product analysts
  12. Contributing to and leading various scrum ceremonies like scrum planning, daily scrum, sprint review, and sprint retrospective

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Ability to understand both product business and technical sides
  • Excellent decision-making, prioritization, and negotiation skills
  • Good planning and forecasting abilities
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication as well as comprehension skills
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and inspire at all levels
  • Must have worked as a project manager or product owner before
  • Must have used Jira, Azure DevOps, or any other ALM for managing backlogs
  • Strong collaboration and team working skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships cross-functionally and across all levels
  • Must have worked in a team following scrum or other agile methodology before
  • Ability to influence change and lead by example
