Product Development Leadership Role

The Product Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the development programme, overseeing product creation, kitchen trials, and feasibility assessments.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough evaluations of new products through taste panels, maintaining accurate records of results.
  2. Provide technical expertise to other departments on product cooking times, recipe ideas, nutritional data, and more.
  3. Ensure continuous product evaluation of both company and competitor offerings, recommending actions as needed.
  4. Liaise with Technical and Purchasing departments for initial ingredient sourcing.
  5. Control and record all development samples across departments, ensuring feedback and action plans are agreed.
  6. Manage process control from concept to finished production item, organizing production trials, cost reviews, and schedules.
  7. Monitor and review ongoing performance of new products and production requirements.
  8. Complete ad hoc projects and product feasibility reports as required.
Requirements:
  1. Degree in Human Ecology/Home Economics/Food Technology or related field.
  2. Up to 2 years post-graduate experience in a development role or an experienced development chef is essential.
  3. Strong knowledge of brands, values, and processes.
  4. Tenacious and detailed approach with a 'can do attitude'. Strong team player.

This role demands strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork.
