Chief Financial Officer Job Description

About the role: This key leadership position involves overseeing all financial activities to manage budgets and control costs company-wide.

Singaporean IT firm expanding its team in Pakistan.

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for designing smart financial strategies to boost profits and support growth, creating strong risk management plans to protect finances, improving financial processes to save time, cut risks, and boost efficiency, leading internal audits to ensure compliance and transparency, maintaining strong relationships within the banking sector and financial institutions, understanding the unique financial needs and agility required in startup ecosystems.

This is a strategic opportunity for a seasoned professional with expertise in financial modeling and strategic financial planning, who can effectively lead small finance teams and work in fast-paced environments.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CA, ACCA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience, with at least 3-5 years in early to mid-stage startups.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement financial plans that align with the company’s business objectives.
  2. Oversee financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  3. Maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions to secure funding and optimize cash flow.
  4. Manage financial risks, including cash flow management and forecasting.
  5. Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management on investment decisions, fundraising, and M&A opportunities.
  6. Leverage industry knowledge and trends to stay ahead of competitors and drive business growth.
  7. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of financial operations.

  • Proficient in financial software and digital reporting tools, with a willingness to learn new technologies and systems.
