Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced financial operations specialist to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining general ledger accuracy, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable.
About the Role:- Process financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulations.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy by reconciling accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Prepare value-added tax (VAT) returns, manage VAT calculations, and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
- Collaborate with the tax team to prepare accurate and timely corporate and individual tax returns.
- Review and mentor junior staff on accounting processes, VAT calculations, and tax return preparation.
- Assist with the creation of financial reports, analyze trends, and provide insights to management.
- CA or ACCA qualified accountant with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working remotely with a UK-based accounting firm.
- Proven proficiency in accounting software, including Xero, FreeAgent, Sage Line 50, VTT+, Iris, and Taxcalc.
- Experience in data migration from Sage Line 50 to Xero is a plus.
- Strong understanding of VAT, accounting principles, and UK tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff.
- A proactive, results-oriented team player with a positive attitude.
