Procurement Leadership Role

This role requires a highly skilled procurement leader to manage the purchasing strategy and activity to ensure optimal supplier performance and price.

  • Create and implement best practice purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to drive business performance.
  • Develop purchasing strategies and processes to meet business objectives and operational needs, focusing on cost savings, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Evaluate challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual planning process.
  • Take ownership of the purchasing policy, guidelines, and associated documents.
  • Implement creative and innovative procurement processes (eProcurement).
  • Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards, and delivery terms.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power.
  • Partner with reliable vendors and suppliers to develop an overall vendor base that creates and sustains a competitive advantage.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a supplier relationship and evaluation process to measure effective supplier performance and compliance.
  • Ensure professional and consistent supplier management across the supply base.
  • Work closely with Research Development to source new and alternative raw materials.
  • Ensure strong communication between teams to facilitate exchange of information and implement change and improvements.
  • Operate in accordance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure staff and visitor safety and wellbeing.
  • Provide leadership, coordination, and coaching to the team to achieve operational and financial metrics.

This is a strategic procurement leadership role that requires a high degree of professionalism, expertise, and technical knowledge. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in technical and non-technical procurement, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.
