This is a remote business analyst position.

Please Note:
  • The client prefers candidates from the Eastern Standard Time Zone, as they prioritize effective communication with their stakeholders.
  • Work Hours: Monday-Friday (40 hours a week) in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Candidates are open to attending occasional on-site sessions in New York City, if required by the client.
Position Summary:
A business analyst will serve as the primary liaison between the client's stakeholders and the technical project team to define, document, and align business and user needs with the design and development of an enterprise budgeting and vendor application system. This role requires a balance of analytical skills, stakeholder engagement, and documentation expertise in a dynamic Agile setting.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct stakeholder and end-user interviews across multiple departments to gather insights and requirements.
  • Analyze current workflows across systems like Galaxy, Extended Use, and FAMIS, and define optimized future-state processes that meet client expectations.
  • Translate findings into user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and business requirements documents for seamless implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, developers, and product managers throughout the Agile development lifecycle to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Validate user requirements through iterative feedback, wireframe review, and usability sessions to guarantee deliverables meet stakeholder needs.
  • Support the planning and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring that deliverables meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Assist in backlog grooming and prioritization of feature requests in coordination with the client's product owners to optimize project outcomes.
  • Maintain project documentation, workflows, and traceability matrices to ensure transparency and accountability.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in digital transformation projects.
  • Strong experience documenting workflows, creating functional requirements, and translating stakeholder needs into technical deliverables.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and methodologies.
  • Public sector or education sector experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, FERPA, and data compliance a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work remotely while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
