The Internal Audit Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the operational, financial and regulatory integrity of an organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Audit Planning: Plan and execute comprehensive reviews/audits to identify areas of improvement and potential risks.
  2. Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including Risk Management and Legal, to ensure cohesive control environments.
  3. Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify controls that mitigate identified risks.
  4. Audit Procedures: Employ audit procedures to verify control effectiveness through testing and interviewing techniques.
  5. Analysis and Conclusion: Analyze and conclude on the efficacy of control environments.
  6. Identifying Control Gaps: Identify control gaps and opportunities for enhancement.
  7. Documenting Audit Findings: Document audit findings in accordance with internal audit department and IIA standards.
  8. Reporting: Prepare timely reports for executive management, the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors.
  9. Internal Control Evaluation: Evaluate and promote adherence to internal policies.
  10. Guidance and Development: Provide guidance on internal control and contribute to the development of internal audit standards and practices within the organization.
  11. Performance Feedback: Offer performance feedback to Internal Auditors on audit assignments, as applicable.
Requirements:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  1. Compliance Knowledge: A deep understanding of IIA standards and the ability to comply fully with these guidelines.
  2. Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills, with the ability to supervise auditors and manage risks effectively.
  3. Adaptability: Adaptability, meeting deadlines, and working collaboratively with individuals at all levels, up to and including the CEO.
  4. Negotiation and Relationship Building: Negotiation, relationship building, problem-solving, and timely issue escalation skills.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  6. Time Management and Organization: Effective time management and organizational abilities.
  7. Attention to Detail: Attention to detail, combined with the capacity to grasp complex issues.
  8. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Visio; experience with ERP and SAP software is an asset.
