Trade Finance Specialist

  • About the Role:

This role is a key position within our organization, responsible for overseeing export operations and ensuring seamless import processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and submission of customs and bank documents for export shipments
  • Addressing marketing queries related to export documentation, commissions, and payment realization
  • Coordinating import processes from L/C opening to shipment clearance from customs
  • Liaising with Finance and Accounts for import operations, documentation, payments, and proceeds
  • Negotiating with transporters for import/export logistics, finalizing contracts, and evaluating bids from freight forwarders as needed
  • Scrutinizing and approving transport and customs clearance bills for import/export
  • Negotiating sea and air freight rates for FCL/LCL and air shipments
  • Liaising with accounts department for timely payment of freight forwarders

Requirements:

  • Experience in trade finance, preferably within the textile or manufacturing sector
  • Professional certifications like CFA, ACCA, or equivalent are a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of trade finance instruments (L/Cs, etc.) and international trade regulations
  • Proven experience in liaising with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies for import/export documentation and payments
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with a strategic approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to lead teams, work cross-functionally, and drive process improvements under high-pressure conditions
