Senior Finance Leader

The Director Finance plays a pivotal role in driving the company's financial performance and ensuring strategic growth. As a key member of the executive team, this role oversees the company's financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with at least 12-15 years of experience, including 5 years in a leadership position. A Chartered Accountant or ACCA certification is mandatory. Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
    • Develop and implement long-term financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
    • Lead the budgeting process, including the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
    • Provide regular financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Treasury Management:
    • Oversee cash management, ensuring optimal liquidity to meet the company's operational needs.
    • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure favorable terms and conditions.
    • Develop and implement investment strategies to maximize returns on excess cash while managing risk.
  • Credit Control:
    • Develop and enforce credit policies to ensure timely collection of receivables and minimize bad debts.
    • Evaluate the creditworthiness of customers and set appropriate credit limits.
    • Oversee the collections process, ensuring timely and efficient recovery of outstanding receivables.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
    • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks and protect the company's assets.
    • Oversee the company's insurance programs to ensure adequate coverage and cost-effectiveness.
  • Audit:
    • Oversee the audit process, including the selection and management of external auditors.
    • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
    • Monitor compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
    • Work closely with the Audit Committee to address any audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Financial Operations:
    • Manage the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
    • Implement and maintain financial systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strategic Advisory:
    • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
    • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic investments.
    • Monitor the company's financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
