Financial Leadership Opportunity

Director Finance Role

The Director Finance plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's financial strategy, ensuring sound budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing strategic recommendations to support growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
  • Develop long-term financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the budgeting process, including annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Provide regular financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Treasury Management:
  • Oversee cash management, ensuring optimal liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Develop and implement investment strategies to maximize returns on excess cash while managing risk.
  • Credit Control:
  • Develop and enforce credit policies to ensure timely collection of receivables and minimize bad debts.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of customers and set appropriate credit limits.
  • Oversee the collections process, ensuring timely and efficient recovery of outstanding receivables.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks and protect assets.
  • Oversee the company's insurance programs to ensure adequate coverage and cost-effectiveness.
  • Audit:
  • Oversee the audit process, including the selection and management of external auditors.
  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Monitor compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Work closely with the Audit Committee to address any audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Financial Operations:
  • Manage the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Implement and maintain financial systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Charted Accountant / ACCA qualification.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to drive financial performance and achieve strategic goals.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
