Network Planning and Transport Optimization

The role involves designing, planning, and optimizing DWDM, IP RAN, Microwave, Fiber Optics, Tower Fiberization, and synchronization networks. The team plays a crucial function in planning, designing, and optimization of the network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and planning optical transport networks for both active and passive parts.
  • Optical transport network evolution planning and roadmap preparation inline with the network growth and demand.
  • Transport network optimization for resilience improvement, efficient use of deployed assets, and reduction of energy cost.
  • Define and measure system performance metrics, perform capacity planning, failure detection, and plan mitigation.
  • Evaluation and trial of new hardware and software features supported by next generation transport technologies in collaboration with OEMs.
  • Preparation of RFP and tenders for Transport Network domain including Packet Transport, DWDM, Synchronization, and FTTx.
  • Prepare Core Transport Network investment forecasting and budgeting.
  • Manage financial control for Transport Network Planning including invoices verification, purchase requisition/purchase order issuance, and contracts management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunications.
  • 8 - 10 years of hands-on experience with Core Transport Network Planning, Designing & Optimization in multi-vendor environment.
  • Proficient in Optical Networks (OSP & ISP), IP-RAN, DWDM, OTN, WASON, and FTTx.
  • Strong background in network synchronization.
  • Experience with transport network functions and database automation.
  • Solid understanding of 2G/3G/4G architecture.
  • Skilled in GIS tools (e.g., Google Earth, MapInfo).
  • Competence with Power BI, data analytics, and automation tools.
