Clinical Nurse Instructor Role

The Clinical Nurse Instructor plays a crucial role in the development and management of nursing education within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Orientation of new nurses, ensuring they are adequately prepared to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Development and coordination of mandatory education programs, tailored to meet the needs of our nursing staff.
  • Clinical support and ongoing education of nurses, focusing on skill improvement and knowledge retention.
  • Assessment of nurses using clinical competencies, evaluating their performance and providing feedback for growth.
  • Identify and respond to the learning needs of individuals and the service, adapting educational programs to meet changing demands.
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of education within the organization, ensuring that our programs are aligned with organizational missions, values, and goals.
Performance Expectations
  1. Maintain required educational and clinical competencies, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  2. Serve as a role model to promote excellence and safety in patient care, demonstrating accountability for nursing practice.
  3. Promote lifelong learning, encouraging staff to develop their skills and advance their careers.
  4. Lead committees, work groups, and projects related to educational activities, fostering collaboration and innovation within the organization.
  5. Undertake necessary components of the performance review process, evaluating staff performance and providing constructive feedback.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrate expertise in nursing practice, incorporating principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs.
  • Develop and coordinate education plans related to initial and ongoing competency validation, aligning with organizational accreditation processes.
  • Adjust content and teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs, ensuring that educational programs are engaging and effective.
  • Provide educational opportunities that benefit nurses at all stages of their career development, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
