Job Title: Compliance Risk Manager

The Regulatory Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization operates within the boundaries of all applicable regulations. This position involves developing and implementing compliance policies, fostering relationships with regulatory bodies, and promoting a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring, interpreting, and implementing relevant regulations, circulars, and directives issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
  • Liaising with SBP and other regulators for periodic inspections, reporting, queries, and correspondence.
  • Ensuring timely submission of all SBP-required reports.
Compliance Program Management:
  • Designing, implementing, and periodically updating the organization's Compliance Management Framework in line with SBP's regulatory framework for microfinance banks.
  • Conducting ongoing compliance risk assessments and gap analyses across departments.
  • Developing and monitoring Key Compliance Indicators (KCIs) to ensure alignment with internal audit findings.
Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CFT):
  • Overseeing the AML/CFT program in accordance with the SBP AML/CFT Regulations, including risk-based customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and reporting of suspicious transactions.
  • Coordinating with the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for system-based alerts and regulatory reporting.
Product & Digital Compliance:
  • Evaluating digital products, including mobile wallets, lending platforms, and fintech partnerships, to ensure compliance with SBP's digital banking regulations and customer protection frameworks.
  • Assessing compliance risks associated with new features, APIs, and digital onboarding processes.
Internal Policy Development & Training:
  • Drafting and enforcing internal compliance-related policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines.
  • Conducting compliance training and awareness programs across the organization to promote a compliance-conscious culture.
  • Leading periodic policy reviews in alignment with regulatory updates.
Audit & Incident Management:
  • Supporting regulatory and internal audits, managing audit responses, and ensuring closure of compliance-related findings.
  • Investigating compliance breaches and recommending appropriate remedial actions.
Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. SBP-recognized compliance training is desirable.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in a compliance role within a banking environment or regulated financial institution in Pakistan.
  • Deep understanding of SBP regulatory frameworks, including Prudential Regulations for MFBs, AML/CFT Regulations, Branchless Banking Regulations, Consumer Protection Framework, and Guidelines for Digital Onboarding/EKYC.
  • Proven track record in regulatory engagement, compliance audits, and operational risk oversight.
