Senior Accounting Advisory Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounting Advisory Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in providing advisory services to clients on financial risk management and regulatory compliance.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assisting clients with challenges surrounding General Ledger (GL) and management reporting;
  • Developing and reviewing policy and procedures, including process maps across accounting, operational, and technical domains;
  • Providing insights on key risks and challenges in ERP/Financial system implementation projects;
  • Assisting clients with identifying their accounting/reporting challenges by carrying out root cause analysis and developing solutions for the same;
  • Assisting the team manager with engagement planning and overall project management;
  • Assisting the team and client with preparation of Business Requirement Document (BRD) encapsulating all requirements from business stakeholders;
  • Assisting clients with preparing financial statements as per applicable accounting framework;
  • Assisting clients with transforming their finance function, restructuring processes, management reporting & design of control framework;
  • Drafting Target operating model (TOM) for Finance department leveraging client input and strategy;
  • Preparation of approach/methodology in proposals in response to client RFP;
  • Interacting and developing relationships with key client staff and engaging in a professional and confident manner;
  • Documenting complex business processes by applying a variety of techniques, tools, and technologies to identify operational inefficiencies and non-compliant situations;
  • Navigating multiple commitments on a regular basis to balance tasks across various client commitments.

Required Skills:

  • Strong leadership and management skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights;
  • Experience with IFRS GAP/Impact assessments and implementation;
  • Expertise in providing advisory services to clients transitioning between accounting frameworks (e.g. IFRS for SME to full adoption of IFRS);
  • Experience in providing complex accounting and reporting advice across the public and private sector;
  • Knowledge of Middle East accounting practices and regulations;
  • Understanding of IFRS framework including IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 17 & IFRS 9;
  • Fluency in English is a must;
  • Bilingual candidates having fluency in Arabic will be preferred;
  • 10+ years of prior working experience in a relevant professional discipline; Big Four Firms' experience is a plus.
