Publications Manager

The primary function of this role is to provide exceptional customer service while managing various bookstore operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service for all customers, addressing their needs and facilitating purchases efficiently.
  • Coordinate the ordering process for books, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on publisher addresses, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform necessary price revisions on current book inventory to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Oversee the receipt and processing of incoming textbooks, coordinating with relevant parties as needed.
  • Process invoices for textbook orders received, maintaining accurate records and communication.
  • Manage the return of excess book inventory, including monitoring receipt of credit memos and re-pricing of returned items.
  • Re-price textbooks after book buy-back events to optimize inventory value.
  • Assist in placing special orders for textbooks, catering to customer demands.
  • In the absence of the Bookstore Manager, responsible for opening and/or closing the Bookstore, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Coordinate the return and re-pricing of athletic textbooks, maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Support the maintenance of the current list of books used on campus, staying informed about curriculum changes.
  • Contribute to book inventories and data input, ensuring accurate records and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with the Bookstore Manager to prepare for book buy-back events, streamlining processes and optimizing results.
  • Offer assistance to other Bookstore staff members as needed, promoting a cohesive team environment.
  • Help staff the Bookstore during special events held outside normal operating hours, enhancing customer engagement and satisfaction.
Requirements:

Excellent Microsoft Office skills, coupled with strong organisational, coordination, analytical, and communication abilities are essential for success in this role.
