Database Administrator Job Description">

The role of a Database Administrator is to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and document database architecture, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Assess and troubleshoot hardware and software malfunctions to prevent downtime.
  • Develop and implement database schemes, tables, procedures, and permissions.
  • Create, test, and execute data management languages.
  • Build database utilities and automated reporting tools.
  • Monitor system performance and capacity requirements.
  • Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, and failover processes.
  • Perform regular maintenance operations on Oracle and SQL servers and databases.
  • Evaluate and recommend new database technologies.
  • Implement and maintain database security and encryption measures.
  • Develop and manage database and information system backup and recovery plans.
  • Establish standards and policies for data entry and ensure compliance.
  • Prepare written materials for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Distribute reports to stakeholders, including weekly and monthly status updates.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings as required.
