Supply Chain Analyst

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Supply Chain Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends and patterns that impact our supply chain.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Implement and supervise agreed research methodology for crop estimation, export/import, and demand of made-ups of the textile industry.
  • Regularly update and maintain databases/time-series data and contribute to the development of the research methodology and strategy, bringing continuous improvement while following regular methodology.
  • Review the methodology applied in view of observations made during crop tours, difference surveys, etc.
  • Collect and evaluate primary and secondary data, performing sanity checks on databases and external sources to ensure data consistency.
  • Create automation tools using macros, power pivot in MS Excel, Power BI, and Python coding to make data updating swift and efficient.
  • Estimate cotton production areas by collecting data from official sources, confirming area estimates through visual estimations of area changes, farmer interviews, and gathering information from third parties like research institutes and state farms.
  • Estimate supply and demand of the entire cotton textile value chain, including upstream and downstream of the cotton industry, tracking all data such as government crop estimates, exports, imports, financial reports of public textile industries, trade data prices, etc.
  • Highlight risks to supply/demand of crops, upstream/downstream public textile crop estimates by working out various scenarios, assessing the impact of different scenarios on yields and associated probabilities like weather, pests, diseases, changing costs or supply of inputs/labor, etc.
  • Conduct gin, mills, and farmers' surveys and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Create comprehensive and user-friendly databases for cotton supply and demand estimates.
  • Coordinate with agronomists/ regional teams for pressing surveys.
  • Calculate demand/consumption of agri-commodities.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Maths & Economics/Statistics/Agricultural Statistics/Agri Business.
  • 2-3 years' experience with the right skill sets. Fresh graduates with the right skill set are also encouraged to apply.
  • Agri commodities experience (preferable).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong data analytical & problem-solving skills for big data sets.
  • Working knowledge in Advance Excel & Power BI (must have).
  • SQL and basic knowledge of Python (coding to correct errors while running python report; preference).
  • Will to travel upcountry on tour whenever required.
  • Open to learn new skills and interested in agriculture.
  • Business proficiency in English and good communication in Urdu.
  • Punjabi & Sindhi proficiency is a plus.
