Remote Business Systems Analyst Role

About the Position

This is a remote position with flexible work hours and opportunities for growth. The client prefers candidates from the Eastern Standard Time Zone.

  • The client may require occasional on-site sessions in New York City.
Position Summary

The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the technical project team to define, document, and align business and user needs with the design and development of an enterprise budgeting system.

This role requires a balance of analytical skills, stakeholder engagement, and documentation expertise in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct interviews across multiple departments to identify business requirements.
  2. Analyze current workflows across systems and define optimized processes.
  3. Translate findings into user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and business requirements documents.
  4. Collaborate closely with designers, developers, and product managers throughout the Agile development lifecycle.
  5. Validate user requirements through iterative feedback and usability sessions.
  6. Support planning and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT).
  7. Assist in backlog grooming and prioritization of feature requests.
  8. Maintain project documentation, workflows, and traceability matrices.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in digital transformation projects.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools and methodologies.
  • Public sector or education sector experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, FERPA, and data compliance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work remotely while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
