Physical Therapist

The role of a Physical Therapist involves assessing patients to develop and deliver individualized treatment programs. This includes conducting perceptual psychosocial activities and instrumental activities of daily living. Additionally, the therapist will assess patients for the need for adaptive equipment and/or assistive devices.

Liaising with medical personnel in daily ward rounds and with peers in the outpatient rehabilitation department is also an essential part of this role. The therapist will educate and advise patients and their families regarding the diagnosed condition, the treatment plan, the expected prognosis, and the short and long-term goals.

Professional interaction with patients, families, peers, medical and healthcare personnel is required. Writing patient assessment and progress notes according to the designed format is also necessary.

The ideal candidate should have a DPT in Physical Therapy from a recognized university and a minimum of one year's experience as a Physical Therapist or one year of traineeship, preferably in a hospital. Knowledge of physical therapy theory, techniques, and equipment is essential. The ability to perform physical therapy procedures and apply/use assistive devices/gait aides is also required.
