Sustainable Development Professional

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Policy Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the production of policy and institutional reviews, providing initial inputs to support the development of biodiversity finance plans, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve project goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental policy and economics, excellent analytical and communication skills, and experience working on large-scale projects.

In this role, you will work closely with our team to identify key policy and institutional barriers to achieving biodiversity conservation goals, develop strategies to address these challenges, and provide recommendations for improving policies and practices related to environmental management.

You will also be responsible for analyzing data and conducting research to inform policy decisions, developing reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, and collaborating with government officials, civil society organizations, and other partners to advance project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the production of policy and institutional reviews, including identifying key policy and institutional barriers to achieving biodiversity conservation goals and developing strategies to address these challenges.
• Provide initial inputs to support the development of biodiversity finance plans, including analyzing data and conducting research to inform policy decisions.
• Analyze data and conduct research to inform policy decisions, develop reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, and collaborate with government officials, civil society organizations, and other partners to advance project objectives.
• Collaborate with the project team to identify and document best practices and lessons learned, and develop a project engagement strategy to increase community participation and feedback.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and other partners, to advance project objectives and ensure effective collaboration and coordination.

Requirements:

• Advanced degree (master's or equivalent) in public policy, economic policy, environmental policy, or a related field is required.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in environmental policy and biodiversity-related projects, preferably in a developing country context.
• Experience working on large-scale projects, including managing multiple tasks and deadlines, and collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and other partners.
