Job Title: Business Intelligence Engineer

Business Intelligence Engineers design and implement systems for collecting and analyzing business data. They create dashboards, databases, and other tools for efficient data collection and evaluation.

Working closely with marketing teams and stakeholders, they understand BI goals and objectives to ensure their systems support competitive research efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and support data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.
  • Create performance dashboards and KPIs for management.
  • Maintain and update data models for reporting and analytics.
  • Identify new features and business opportunities through analysis.
  • Develop data visualizations to show trends, patterns, and outliers.
  • Monitor and optimize business intelligence tools for optimal performance.
  • Provide regular updates on projects and tasks to customers, business, and staff.
  • Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools.
  • Support upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting for business intelligence tools.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document programs.
  • Lead ad-hoc business deep dive analysis and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Modify reports, extracts, dashboards, and cubes as necessary.
  • Collect, analyze, and share data for strategic product decisions.
  • Maintain current inventory of reports and publish information to users.
  • Identify development needs to improve operations.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for program writing.
  • Own automated solutions for recurring reporting and in-depth analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Information Systems.
  • Experience with SQL, ETL, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS software, systems, and programs.
  • Experience with Agile, Python, Redshift, Cloud, T-SQL, and R language software and systems.
  • Fluent in statistics, datasets, and scripting.
  • Decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Familiarity with version control and relational databases.
