**Job Description:** Taxation Expert

We are looking for an experienced Taxation Expert to join our team. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of taxation laws and regulations, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.

About the Role:

  • The Taxation Expert will be responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions and activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.

  • This includes monitoring and reporting on changes in taxation laws, liaising with tax consultants, establishing internal control policies, and filing periodical tax statements.

  • The successful candidate will also work closely with the Payable and Procurement team to ensure timely payment of withholding taxes and reconcile input tax credit from invoices to the FBR portal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep the team informed of all periodical changes in taxation laws and their effect on the company's business.

  • Liaise with tax consultants for routine compliances, filing of appeals, pursuing pending cases, and seeking opinions on operational matters.

  • Establish and implement internal control policies to ensure adherence to taxation requirements by cross-functional teams.

  • File all periodical tax statements, including income tax returns, sales tax returns (federal/provincial), advance income tax, and withholding tax statements.

  • Ensure timely payment of all withholding taxes as per law and issue regular alerts.

  • Work closely with the Payable and Procurement team on purchase returns and execute timely settlement of any debit/credit notes.

  • Reconcile input tax credit from invoice to FBR portal and issue timely alert for payment settlement from non-compliant vendors.
