Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the development of our data architecture. This role is crucial in designing, developing, and optimizing complex data systems that support our business objectives.

  • Develop scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions using SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks.
  • Architect and implement robust data models and solutions that support the organization's reporting and analytics needs, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) while transitioning legacy reporting to modern platforms such as Power BI.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical solutions that drive business insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality by implementing effective data governance, security, and compliance measures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-performance querying solutions using Delta Lake and serverless SQL environments.
  • Implementing version control and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Git or other similar tools.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks, optimizing existing data infrastructure to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Driving the adoption of Azure data services and related cloud technologies across the data engineering team.
  • Providing advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning expertise for SQL and data integration solutions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks or MS Fabric.
  • Proficient in SQL development, including stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Extensive experience with ETL development and data integration from a range of sources including SQL, DB2, Mysql, Azure Blob, and APIs.
  • Expertise in designing and optimizing data models.
  • Hands-on experience with SSRS and the ability to modernize legacy reporting by transitioning to Power BI.
  • Familiarity with data governance and best security practices.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Atlassian JIRA for managing tasks and workflows.
  • Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and deployment automation tools.
  • Proven ability to architect scalable data solutions that drive business objectives and operational efficiencies.
