Job Overview:

The position of Senior NDT Engineer oversees the application of non-destructive testing techniques on pipelines.

This role involves supervising a team to ensure the integrity and reliability of critical infrastructure within the natural gas transmission system, as well as formulation, execution, and monitoring of pipeline assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize NDT Services: Ensure compliance with international standards by hiring third-party providers for impartial assessments of pipeline conditions, and guarantee that inspectors are trained and certified.
  • Review Reports: Assess data from service providers and verify the accuracy of their findings.
  • Ensure Correct Application of NDT Techniques: Monitor pipeline integrity and detect defects early to prevent potential issues.
  • Review Welding Tenders: Provide technical inputs on bills of quantities and technical details to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Check Method Statements and SOPs: Obtain approval from the HSE & QA department for project monitoring and implementation.
  • Monitor Third-Party Activities: Supervise NDT activities and implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards.
  • Conduct Assessments: Use NDT techniques to provide insights into structural integrity and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor Pipeline Project Activities: Oversee excavation, pigging, commissioning, and handover processes to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prepare Pre-Qualification Tenders: Develop documentation for inspections, NDT testing, welding, radiography, etc.
  • Review Documentation: Finalize project documents and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Formulate Transportation Agreements: Coordinate with departments like Finance, Transmission, and Measurement to develop technical aspects of agreements.
  • Coordinate with Government and Private Entities: Communicate effectively with external parties and adhere to contractual obligations.
  • Risk Management: Identify deviations, assess risks, develop risk response strategies, and monitor these strategies to minimize potential risks.
  • Accurate Risk Reporting: Provide timely and accurate risk reporting to inform decision-making.
