Job Description

The purpose of this position is to oversee the application of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques on pipelines, as well as manage land acquisition requirements for projects related to transmission pipelines and compression stations.

This includes ensuring timely arrangement of land for projects and coordinating with external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Organize NDT services through a third-party service provider to obtain impartial and independent assessments of pipeline condition.
  2. Ensure that the service provider applies NDT in accordance with international standards, well-designed procedures, trained and certified inspectors, and review their report and assessment data.
  3. Apply NDT testing techniques to monitor the integrity and reliability of pipelines and detect defects and irregularities before they result in severe damage or non-compliance.
  4. Review third-party welding tenders, including bills of quantities and technical details, and provide technical inputs in tender documents.
  5. Check method statements and standard operating procedures for project monitoring and control purposes.
  6. Seek approval of documents from Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality department.
  7. Monitor the plan to execute third-party inspections and construction activities.
  8. Supervise activities related to non-destructive testing.
  9. Implement and oversee quality assurance measures for NDT processes.
  10. Ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards in all NDT deliverables.
  11. Conduct comprehensive assessments of critical infrastructure using NDT techniques.
  12. Provide insights into the structural integrity and reliability of components within natural gas transmission system.
  13. Monitor or witness pipeline project activities, including excavation, pigging, commissioning, and handing over to Transmission department.
  14. Prepare pre-qualification tenders for inspection, NDT testing, and other jobs, including welding and radiography.
  15. Develop and execute strategic plans for land acquisition for future projects, aligning them with company overall objectives and regulatory requirements.
  16. Oversee the planning of land utilization for natural gas infrastructure projects, optimizing space for pipelines, compressor stations, and other facilities.
  17. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and conduct due diligence in land transactions, mitigating risks and ensuring the integrity of company's land-related activities.
  18. Collaborate with relevant departments to effectively allocate resources for land-related activities.
  19. Manage budgets to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.
  20. Work closely with design and engineering teams to coordinate land requirements for various projects, ensuring seamless integration with overall project plans.
  21. Facilitate community engagement initiatives related to land acquisition, addressing concerns, and promoting positive relationships with local communities.
  22. Collaborate with environmental experts to conduct assessments, ensuring that land activities align with environmental sustainability goals.
  23. Lead the planning activities to determine the most feasible pipeline route by organizing engineering surveys and using tools such as satellite maps.
  24. Organize reconnaissance site surveys using GPS, cameras, and other tools to determine the tentative route of pipeline and number of crossings along the route.
  25. Coordinate with external stakeholders for feedback and inputs on pipeline route.
  26. Identify and assess risks under management/ownership.
