Lab Equipment Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Lab Equipment Technician.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Daily Inspections and Reporting
    • Perform daily inspections of equipment and report any discrepancies or unserviceability.
  • Maintenance and Servicing
    • Maintain and service equipment as needed, ensuring timely servicing and proper documentation.
  • Experimental Support
    • Set up lab equipment before experimental work and ensure all apparatus is in working condition.
    • Assist students during experimental work, maintaining safety precautions and overseeing proper storage during closing hours.
  • Equipment Management
    • Manage equipment/apparatus in the lab, keeping records of all lab equipment/instruments in registers and maintaining cleanliness of equipment and lab surroundings.
  • Closing Procedures
    • Secure the lab and oversee proper storage during closing hours, switching off lights, computers, ACs/heaters, and lab equipment before closing.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications
    • Diploma in Mechanical Technology (DAE) with 10 years' experience in operating, repairing, and maintaining miscellaneous lab equipment related to IC Engine, Thermodynamics, or Fluid Mechanics.
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Technology (B. Tech) with 3-5 years' experience in operating, repairing, and maintaining miscellaneous lab equipment related to IC Engine, Thermodynamics, or Fluid Mechanics.
  • Eligibility Criteria
    • A third division in terminal degree is not acceptable.
    • NUST employees with less than one year of service are ineligible.
    • Medically unfit candidates are not eligible.
