Senior Merchandiser Role Overview
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Senior Merchandiser to join our team. As a key member of the merchandising department, you will be responsible for end-to-end product development, including ensuring quality, vendor selection, pricing, and timely delivery.
- You will work closely with buyers, suppliers, and merchandising teams to negotiate prices, quantities, and timelines.
- Maximize customer interest at margin levels.
- Build constructive relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Ensure vendors meet schedules for inspections and provide shipping documents in a timely manner.
- Report to business leaders as required.
- Handle ad-hoc projects such as vendor compliance and documentation.
- Communicate regularly with buyers and merchant teams regarding production and shipment status.
- Coordinate operational activities from proto sample development to costing, production tracking, fabric and trim development, WIP updates, and price negotiation with suppliers.
- Track critical path, forecast delays, and take corrective action to ensure on-time delivery.
- Identify and diagnose production problems and present alternatives to buyers and line seniors.
- Maintain liaison with QA Depts/Factory Management Team for quality, inspections, and delivery deadlines.
