Senior Merchandising Professional Job Profile

Responsibilities and Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in merchandising, specifically in product development, vendor management, and supply chain coordination. Key responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end product development, ensuring quality, vendor selection, pricing, and timely delivery.
  • Negotiating prices, quantities, and timelines with buyers, suppliers, and merchandising teams.
  • Building and maintaining constructive relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Ensuring vendors meet schedules for inspections and providing shipping documents in a timely manner.
  • Reporting to business leaders as required.
  • Handling ad-hoc projects such as vendor compliance and documentation.
  • Communicating regularly with buyers and merchant teams regarding production and shipment status.
  • Coordinating operational activities from proto sample development to costing, production tracking, fabric and trim development, WIP updates, and price negotiation with suppliers.
  • Tracking critical path, forecast delays, and taking corrective action to ensure on-time delivery.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • 8-10 years working experience in merchandising.
  • Solid understanding of garment manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
