
Compliance and Sanctions Specialist

The role of a Compliance and Sanctions Consultant is to assist in the implementation, maintenance, and updating of compliance policies, procedures, and processes. This includes supporting the roll-out of a global Compliance Management System and key policies, ensuring that such policies, procedures, systems, and processes are in line with laws, regulations, and business contexts.
- Assist in assessing related sanctions risk exposure, overseeing the quality of sanctions control processes, and setting global standards to manage and mitigate identified sanctions risks.
- Train new and current personnel on Sanctions Policies and other corporate compliance policies.
- Screen applicable sanctions lists using technology and software, evaluate and document results, and make appropriate risk-based decisions about the results.
- Assist in managing and leading the compliance response for non-compliant behavior and initiate investigations in cases of alleged misconduct.
- Adjust the Compliance Program to local requirements in close alignment with global Compliance and ensure all local regulatory and other relevant compliance obligations are defined, identified, documented, and updated.
- Ensure employee behaviors and compliance efforts are consistent with global and local ethical and legal standards.
- Identify potential local areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develop/ implement corrective action plans to resolve problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
- Assess risk exposure of the entity by gathering information about potential risks which impact local entities, quantification, and qualification of risks identified and assessed, and maintaining the risk register.
- Keep a keen eye on developing business trends, political, natural, and environmental factors which may impact one or more local entities, ensuring such trends and developments' impacts are assessed and registered in the risk registers.
- ACCA qualified or CA part qualified or BBA or MBA or BSC Hons.
- Three years of experience in the same or related field.
