Job Title: Health, Safety and Environment Manager

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Health and Environment Strategy for ITA programs and projects.
  • Review and upgrade the strategy to ensure close links to climate change and school health programs.
  • Conduct needs assessments for new partner schools.
  • Provide access to relevant materials on climate change, education for sustainable development, and health action schools.
  • Organize meetings with mothers and the community for health awareness and education.
  • Monitor school environments and propose strategies for active citizenship.
  • Maintain health records of school children.
  • Train teachers on health and environment issues and integrate them into school activities.
  • Support teachers in different projects.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor health tools in partner schools.
  • Assist the cluster coordinator/education promoter in their activities.
  • Facilitate Whole School Improvement Program and its key activities with other team members.
  • Develop health and environmental curriculum and relevant activities.
  • Participate in enrichment activities including health clubs, summer camps, and festivals.
  • Support non-formal and literacy programs under ITA.
  • Document activities under the Health and Environmental Education Program and contributions to the ITA newsletter.
  • Update and maintain the teachers' resource corner.
  • Liaise with like-minded organizations in government and non-government sectors.
  • Participate in capacity-building activities for professional development.
  • Develop linkages with organizations working in health and environment and government agencies.
