Land Use Analyst and Data Scientist

We are seeking a skilled Land Use Analyst and Data Scientist to lead our land use mapping and analysis initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will utilize your expertise to develop innovative solutions and insights into land use patterns and their environmental implications.

  • Conduct advanced land use mapping and spatial analysis using GIS and R programming.
  • Apply landscape metrics or similar packages to extract meaningful landscape data.
  • Develop and implement models to assess carbon dynamics in the landscape.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate spatial analysis into broader research projects.
  • Present findings through clear and compelling visualizations and reports.

You will be working closely with an interdisciplinary team to contribute to meaningful environmental research and conservation efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for GIS, R programming, and environmental science to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct advanced land use mapping and spatial analysis.

This position requires a strong background in land use mapping and analysis techniques, proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and R programming, experience with landscape metrics or comparable packages for spatial analysis, ability to develop and implement carbon modeling methodologies, excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, opportunities for professional development and career advancement, and a collaborative and supportive work environment.
